Whalers complete two trades; Add FWD Justin Ewald and defensemen Nolan Drury

Fergus, Ontario – While it may be the off season, the management team has been hard at it.

The Whalers have started June off by making a big splash, acquiring two players – forward Justin Ewald from the Blenheim Blades, and defensemen Nolan Drury, from the Alliston Hornets.

Ewald, 18, who is the younger brother of veteran forward and assistant captain Tyler Ewald, joins the team after a very impressive rookie season with the Blades, where he was more than a point per game player.  Justin is a dynamic forward, who will be used in a multitude of roles with the team.

Drury is a 2005 born d-man who hails from Oro-Medonte, Ontario.  Nolan has appeared in 60 regular season games in the PJHL over two seasons with the Hornets, and he captured the Carruthers Division Championship last season.  He will be a veteran presence in our lineup, and a solid defender, as the team looks to replace the hole left by the departure of three overage defensemen, Zach Nault, Kyle Parsons and Conner Bradley.

Both Nolan and Justin will be attending the University of Guelph in the fall.
